Apartment Complex Rezoning and Building Variances on N. Hague Ave.
An 8.34-acre apartment complex is proposed on the east side of North Hague Avenue, south of Trabou Road. The applicant pulled both the rezoning and variance back to committee, so nothing has been decided yet.
Residential Apartment Rezoning on Demorest Road
Residents and council members raised concerns about whether Demorest Road, a narrow two-lane rural road, can handle the surge of traffic from multiple new apartment complexes, including the 216-unit Sycamore Landing project. City traffic officials defended the approvals based on traffic impact studies showing intersections will operate within capacity, while council members pushed for a more comprehensive long-term infrastructure plan.
